Motivated and serious, I know how to adjust to different work environments. My senses of organisation and diplomacy allow me to be at ease alone or in a team, as well as dealing with clients, colleagues or intermediaries. A two-month internship in Ireland’s largest independent bookstore also helped me develop my skills in a foreign professional context, and allowed me to make use of my English studies. In order to complete my Master's Degree, I spent nine months with the Centre Européen de Promotion de l'Histoire (European center for the promotion of History), organising the festival Les Rendez-vous de l'histoire in Blois, which was a complete and instructive experience.

I've loved reading since I was little! To me, books are like doors leading to other worlds, and I like to escape in those worlds for the time of a chapter or two. Today, I read as much in English as I do in French, with a preference for the original versions, as I enjoy discovering a text just like its author thought it. My favorite genres are those of the imaginary : fantasy, science-fiction, fantastic, etc. but I'm not very difficult, any good story will suit me. I also took part in a reading panel, which is how I confirmed my desire to work in the publishing area.
I've always loved to write. I needed to use that overflowing imagination of mine! Stories, letters, don't leave me with blank paper. Pushed by a friend and author, I even completed my very first manuscript, which received some good comments form the Nouvelles Plumes reading panel. But what matters the most to me is to enjoy it. As Cyril Connolly said "Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self."
Just like with books, I like many different things, whether on the big of the small screen. Though I admit I prefer English productions, with a special taste for blockbusters, I try to keep an open mind about every genre and style.
I never liked sports at school, but I reconnected with my motivation during college and found the activities I enjoyed. And now I can barely stop! Running, biking, fitness, dance... If being stuck at home gave me one thing, it is the need and desire to get back into (and keep in) shape!
Growing up in a small village, I've always liked to travel, either by pages, screen, or for real. My last adventures took me to Dublin, Ireland, where I found a new home away from home for the time I was there. English speaking countries are the most appealing to me, mostly because I love the language and the feeling my Bachelor's Degree is put to good use. But I am naturally curious, so I keep an open mind for the rest of the World. Next stop? Scotland, I hope.
Once in a while, I like to get out of my personnal bubble to spend time with my family and friends, with a drink, a good meal, a movie, or even a party of laser game or escape game... it doesn't matter, as long as we're all having fun!
Alexia was a great pleasure to work with. Her enterprising attitude made her a great addition to our team. She was very helpful assisting customers and she was always very friendly and polite. She showed a lot of interest in her work and was willing and capable of taking on new responsibilities. She completed all tasks in an efficient manner and to our full satisfaction. Alexia's ability to work independently was outstanding.Anja Seidel, Manager at Chapters Bookstore Dublin, Parnell Street
Alexia was an efficient, careful, professionnal and delightful intern. Those qualities were very precious in the realization of the different tasks assigned to her. It is thus in complete trust that she was also tasked with important missions. We were delighted to extend her internship with a 4.5 months contract.Hélène Renard, Book Fair Manager for the Rendez-vous de l'histoire
